This fun educational tour starts at Makena Landing and paddles around the bay. Located just minutes south of Kihei and Wailea, this area is considered by many as the premier location on Maui for Kayaking and Snorkeling.
The Makena area is famous for the Green Sea Turtle population, exceptional paddling conditions and just an overall great area to visit. Enjoy gentle ocean conditions, gorgeous coastlines and underwater reefs with an excellent variety of unique sea life. Makena Bay
Makena Landing is one of Maui’s best snorkeling spots with its gentle ocean conditions, gorgeous coastline and underwater reefs and excellent variety of unique sea life. While close to Wailea and Kihei, visitors drive all the way from Lahaina and Ka`anapali as it is known for being one of Maui’s best spots for snorkeling. Home to a high concentration of Hawaiian Green Sea turtles (honu), the area not far from Makena Landing is called “Turtle Town”, where rays, Dolphins and the Hawaiian monk seal are commonly spotted as well. During whale season (October thru April) you will have the opportunity to see Humpback whales during their annual migration to the Islands to mate and give birth.
